Pipe Down

The 1001 hookah makes a bad habit beautiful

We've said it before and we'll say it again: We don't condone smoking, just as we don't condone the consumption of alcohol or sweet, sweet bacon.
Still, a man has to live a little from time to time.
Which is why if you are inclined to puff a bit of shisha every now and again, you don't need to pretend you're still in that fusty college dorm full of Sublime posters and hacky sacks.
You'd be much better off with the 1001, which just turned hookah-smoking into a fine art.
Made of anodized aluminum, polished brass, glass, and 3-D printed parts, it looks like something out of Dieter Rams' minimalist mind. It's no surprise that its inventor, Christian Zanzotti, is a former concept car designer who's turned toward product design.

Which is why the sleek 1001 would look perfectly at home on your mantel next to, say, your concrete, gesture-controlled audio speaker.

No Sublime, please.
