Just in case you need us to tell you, normcore
is not actually a fashion trend, and wearing a watch is about more than telling the time. You've got a phone for that.
But companies like Martenero know that a well-made watch is a style statement, not a utilitarian choice.
The New York-based startup recently debuted its two inaugural models, the Founder and the Ace and, unlike the normcore crowd, takes its looks seriously.
The Ace is a classic pilot watch with fat Arabic numerals and a water-resistant, surgical steel case. Inside, it's powered by a Miyota 821A Automatic movement with power reserve of 45 hours, which is no slouch.
The Founder's for the sporty set, but with similar specs. Like the Ace, it's got a full exhibition case back to display the glorious gears inside.
Limited to a run of 1,000 pieces each, both models are hand-built to order and shipped to you within a few days.
We don't need to tell you not to pair it with dad jeans.
