We give in. The robots are coming, and there's no stopping them. Resistance, apparently, is futile.
But we'd prefer to start off the AI invasion with a benevolent 'bot, if possible. That's where the smartphone-powered Keecker comes in.
This little roving robot has two main functions. First, it's a mobile entertainment system, with a built-in projector and 360-degree immersive sound. After connecting it to your Android phone, you can use Keecker to browse the Web, watch movies, play games, or even video chat.
And because it's on wheels, you don't need to stay glued to one spot to use it. It'll follow you around, projecting images onto any flat surface.
Yeah, Wall-E would've loved this little gal.
And like Eve, Keecker packs a punch, also serving as a security droid. With an array of cameras and sensors — which can monitor temperature, humidity, CO2 level, and more — the robot can continuously keep watch on your home, and allow you to check in on it remotely.
Its built-in battery lasts up to a week, so you don't need to rush back to charge it.
Keecker's still getting ready for prime time, but it should be available by the end of 2014. Hopefully, the invasion can wait until then.
