You'll want to keep this one on your radar.
That contraption right there is called The Sub, and it aims to completely change how you drink beer at home.
Krups' new countertop device for Heineken does away with all that bottle drinking, keg lugging, and deposit-adding nonsense, replacing it with a sleek, high-tech tap system right in your home. And no, it won't make your pad look like Lambda Epsilon Omega house in Old School.
That's because it was crafted by famed industrial designer Marc Newson
, who knows a thing or two
about understated, ridiculously elegant design.
Here's how it works: Load up the unit with a "Torp," an oversized bullet of beer (from one of Heineken's labels, of course — Heineken, Desperados, Birra Moretti Baffo D'Oro, and Affligem). Think of The Sub as the Nespresso machine of beer.
Lock your Torp into the chamber, where it will drop to a super-chilled 35 degrees for up to 15 days. If you can wait that long.
Then, it's up to you to pull the perfect pour.
The only downside? You'll have to wait for this Sub to ship.
