Stand and Deliver

The Stir desk might just be the smartest piece of furniture in the world

You've read those statistics about how sitting is killing us all.
And maybe you mulled a standing desk, until you realized that all of them make you look like a tool.
But it doesn't need to be that way. Meet the Stir Kinetic Desk, the Xbox Kinect of workstations.
See, Stir is crazy smart. It knows when you're in front of it. It even learns your schedule. But its real trick is slowly transforming from regular desk to standing desk and back again throughout the course of the day.

Another function subtly raises the desk by an inch or so, just to keep you alert. You can also double-tap the built-in touchscreen to raise or lower it at your will.
That way you get a little workout and a little lifespan boost, too. Stir's interface also tracks calories burned and standing time.
Design-wise, Stir won't fight your Dieter Rams shelving system. It's minimal and modern, and doesn't look like it came out of the back of a Staples catalog. It's also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and has hidden, built-in ports for AC and USB power.
Now you just need to find a chair that makes you protein shakes.
