The old guard fashion rules clearly state: No white after Labor Day.
But once again, Converse makes its own rules.
That's why it collaborated with Kanye-approved luxury label Maison Martin Margiela for a limited-edition collection of bright white kicks, debuting next week.
You might remember Paris-based MMM for bringing avant-garde to humble H&M in their capsule collection.
Now, true to form, Margiela takes some classic Chuck Taylor hi-tops and Jack Purcell low-tops and dunks them in vats of paint.
No word on pricing yet — MMM will unveil the collection on September 11 in New York — but sneakerheads online suggest a tag somewhere in the $200 range. And yes, that's more than your average pair of Chucks, but a cool couple Benjis less than your average pair of Margielas.
Still, you could always go the DIY route.
