Air Yeezy II Platinums are admittedly splurge-worthy. But they're also the 2013 equivalent of True Religion jeans: every dude with a few Benjamins to burn is rocking them.
Which is why we're amped about Greats, the new brand from Gourmet footwear founder Jon Buscemi and his partner Ryan Babenzien that aims to bring you well-crafted shoes at a surprisingly reasonable price.
How could they possibly do that? Since the whole brand is online-only, they avoid undue overhead and keep 'em affordable. And Greats keeps things simple with just two styles and a handful of colorways.
The Wilson, at $59 per, is a classic basketball lowtop with cotton canvas uppers, elastic laces, and vulcanized rubber outsoles, available in navy, red, or white.
The Royal (pictured) ups the ante with deerskin uppers, a stripe of vintage chenille, waxed cotton laces, and a calfskin liner. Priced at $99, you can get a pair in chocolate, grey, or black.
Our move: buy your style of choice in every color.
Because why splurge on one pair of sneaks when you can get three for the same price?
Yeah, we can't answer that question, either.
