You've always hated the fact that Facebook doesn't let you "dislike" something.
Well, hate no more. Actually, no, hate more — with Hater, a new social app for misanthropes and malcontents.
Launched just before the kickoff of this year's SXSW, Hater is currently available for iPhone, with Android support in the coming months. (Ironically, Android users are more likely to be pessimists.)
If you're used to Facebook, you'll already be trained to use the app. You can take a photo and add commentary ("Hipster tattoos of Edison bulbs" of "Dudes in performance fleece at a wedding"). You can include geotags and hashtags, Hate snapshots of things you find online, and even post anonymously.
And, of course, you can even share your Hates on Facebook and Twitter. And then "like" those "hates." And so on and so on, until you give yourself a migraine. We just did.
But you don't just have to hate "good" things — you can hate bad things, too. Share your dislike for poverty, inequality, political hypocrisy, and everything else that righteously raises your hackles.
And then hate everyone who likes that.
