It’s going to be a dark and stormy night. Not, you know, here or anything.
Sure, maybe a little on the foggy side, but we’re not talking about the weather.
No, we’re talking about Berlin Express. The Third Man. Too Late for Tears. We’re talking about mistaken identities, fast-talking dames, and Orson Welles in all his trench-coated glory.
So rakishly tilt your fedora for Noir City, the 12th annual celebration of all things hard boiled and detectivey, taking over the Castro Theatre starting Friday, January 24th.
In case you’ve missed it before, this epic ten-day smorgasbord of throwback private eye flicks will feature the same exuberant atmosphere and complimentary cocktails that have served it so well in years past. And for a twist, this year’s festival will highlight several international noir classics alongside their domestic counterparts.
The screening schedule is now online, so feel free to pick and choose your favorites. We suggest picking up a Noir City Passport, granting access to the opening night reception in the theater mezzanine, as well as early entrance into every screening for the duration of the festival.
So maybe just go ahead and make that several dark and stormy nights.
