Everybody loves a good block party. Barbecue. Neighbors. Giant inflatable castles to jump in.
This… is going to be pretty much nothing like that.
Prepare a neighborly Jell-O mold for Brews on the Block, a celebration of all things sudsy, cold, and locally brewed, rolling into the south end of Annie Alley on Saturday.
The event is hosted by Novela — you know, the awesome, semi-new SoMa cocktailery whose elixirs are named after literary characters like Huck Finn and Jay Gatsby) — so you know you’re in for a pretty incredible time. And you are. Awesome local breweries Pacific Brew Lab, Hangar 24, and Almanac Brew Co. are all bringing their wares to the party.
Between draughts, kick up your heels to the sounds of self-described “Voodoo Blues” impresarios Slim Jenkins, a raucous SF five-piece who recently made waves (and some critics’ lists) at this year’s Outside Lands.
And because it wouldn’t be a block party without a little something to snack on, a veritable armada of food trucks will be parked onsite to ensure no one resorts to any ill-conceived snack runs at the Metreon food court.
If you want to raise a glass or two to those guys, you’re more than welcome.
