Meet Sparrow Bar, The Haight's newest spot to drink and dine al fresco

Full_sparrowpatio

It can be tough to dine al fresco in The Haight.

What with the gale force winds, aggressive street people, and nearly all-day fog.

But the sun will shine on The Haight again. We promise. And when that happens, head over to Sparrow Bar and Kitchen, freshly open on Haight Street.

The new gastropub's spacious backyard patio provides the perfect scene for a casual mid-week date on an unseasonably balmy summer evening, and a respite from randoms.

A comfort-food-based menu means brie & bacon grilled cheese, and the signature Sparrow Burger (topped with roasted mushrooms, gruyere, balsamic roasted onions) for you two to share.

Pair your meal with selections from the 14 curated craft beers on tap, including a range of seasonal gems from Allagash and Pine Street.

Considering that selection, maybe it's worth hitting up this place rain or shine.

If you're going to leave in a fog, why not eat in one, too?
