It's not easy to daydrink with class. But we manage.
And this Memorial Day Weekend, the California Festival of Beers puts those skills to the test as it beckons beer lovers to scenic San Luis Obispo.
Started in the parking lot of a local pub, Beer Fest has become one of the oldest and largest beer festivals in the world. Hosting more than 200 craft beers on tap, the festival pours samples from more than six dozen breweries including Dogfish Head, Anderson Valley, Green Flash, and Mad River.
Take Friday off and make your way down the 1 to catch the Arts and Drafts Connoisseur Tasting, where Stone Brewing's "Dr." Bill Sysak will expertly pair beer and dinner. Then hit Saturday's Grand Tasting to enjoy five hours of bottomless beer tastings, live blues, and food.
Worried about getting back to your hotel? SLO shuttles will pick you up and drop you back at the beach so you can finish off your three-day weekend in style — no DDs required.
