Pooper Scooper

Number Two pushes the boundaries of adventurous eating

First there was elephant dung coffee.

Now there's rabbit poop ice cream.

And it's only at Number Two, a shall-we-say adventurous food cart scooping bunny dropping-studded frozen treats in Dolores Park, starting today.

Looks like the Easter Bunny left us more than just Cadbury Eggs this year.

Yes, it's legal. And, yes, it's delicious, adding notes of earth and grass that help keep a classic scoop of vanilla from being too, err, vanilla.

An added bonus: The bunny doo purportedly contains high doses of lactase, the missing link that allows lactose-intolerant people to break down dairy products. (Which is kind of funny, considering what happens when a lactose-intolerant person eats normal ice cream.)

The goal is to eventually open a brick-and-mortar serving a full range dairy products using this naturally-derived (read: poological) source of lactase.

We'll let you know when it drops.

Safety first: No, you aren't going to catch a bunny bug. The pellets are thoroughly washed and irradiated before being chopped and incorporated with Tahitian vanilla beans and cream from locally-raised cows to create Number Two's signature offering.

Is this a joke? Yes, it's April Fools' Day.
