Why go to the desert for something you can find in wine country?
We're skipping the trek to the Coachella Valley this year and, instead, heading to BottleRock in Napa in May.
The five-day festival mixes seriously credible indie acts (Alabama Shakes, Dirty Projectors), with big name favorites including The Black Keys, who, despite graduating to Twitter-war-with-The-Beebs status, still rock pretty damn hard.
Oh and some band called The Flaming Lips is also supposed to show up.
Throw in food from Napa's best restaurants (hello, Morimoto) and a wine tent pouring Silver Oak, and heading to the desert sounds less and less necessary.
Then again... Maybe do both?
