Independence Day, Part Deux

Get Frenched this Friday for Bastille Day

Full_frenchflag

Say what you will about the French, but we're all for raising multiple glasses to the country that brought us the French 75, kissing with tongue, and Jennifer Lamiraqui.

Here are three pre-Bastille-Day celebrations that will have you saying Vive la France.

Bardot a Go Go at Rickshaw Stop
Celebrate the iconic French sex symbol with an evening of '60s French pop and soul, plus go-go dancers and drink specials. With any luck, your lady will be inspired to launch into a rendition of Zou Bisou Bisou a la Megan Draper when you get home.
Fri 9p. 155 Fell St., Hayes Valley (415-861-2011). $10 here. Nearby: Boxing Room; Smuggler's Cove; O3 Bistro

Mugsy's Pop-Up Wine Bar at El Rio
No, this has nothing to do with that weird language-learning program constantly interrupted your SNICK viewing as a kid. It's actually a pop-up wine bar where you'll be celebrating as the French do -- by drinking copious amounts of sparkling Blanc de Noir Crémant de Bourgogne. (Don't worry, we can't pronounce that, either.)
Fri 5:30-8:30p. 3158 Mission St., The Mission (415-282-3325). Nearby: The Royal Cuckoo; Locavore; 3300 Club

Bastille Day Celebration at RN74
As if $1 oysters aren't enough, Michael Mina's peeps will reward you with a free Bastille Day cocktail for wearing your Louis XVI wig. Which will get you one step closer to losing your head -- in a good way.
Fri 3-10p. 301 Mission St., SoMa (415-543-7474). Nearby: 83 Proof; Salt House; House of Shields
