Green Day

It's possible to be dignified and have fun on St. Pat's. Here's how.

After three epic years, St. Patrick's Day is now on a lowly Monday, which means we probably shouldn't get too sloppy on green beer and pass out in a gutter. But hey, we still want to celebrate the luck of the Irish, right?

From 5Ks to music fests, here's your ultimate guide to St. Pat's activities beyond the slosh.

Today: Lucky Music Festival
Start the weekend off with a bang, as the WaMu Theater hosts a party that goes until 3:30 Saturday morning featuring a flabbergasting array of EDM talent including Diplo, Darude, and Showtek.
7:30p. WaMu Theater, 800 Occidental Ave S, SoDo (206-381-7555). $85-150 here

Saturday: St. Patrick's Blowout with the Wages of Sin
Seattle's best Celtic-Appalachian-rockabilly-Tex-Mex band blows the doors off the joint at their annual St. Paddy's show, and this year should be no different.
8p. Neumos, 925 E Pike St, Capitol Hill (206-709-9442). $10 here

Sunday: F5 St. Patrick's Day Dash
Possibly the largest street race in Seattle, this 5K draws so many revelers that the winners have crossed the finish line before the last stragglers have even started. Expect crazy costumes, Irish camaraderie, and lots of money raised for the Detlef Schrempf Foundation.
8a. 3rd Ave and Mercer St, Downtown (800-343-4411). $35, register here

Monday: Leprechaun in Hecklevision
Head down to the Central Cinema to watch a young, nubile Jennifer Aniston face off against a malevolent Irish midget in this 1993 cheapie. Keep your phone on so you can text insults to the theater and they'll show up on-screen.
7p & 9:30p. Central Cinema, 1411 21st Ave, Central District (206-686-6684). $8
