A Solid Irish Name

Liam's will give you all the comfort of home

Full_liams

The new addition to University Village is starting to fill up, and the first restaurant to move in is something truly special.

Kurt Dammeier, who has made some of the city's best comfort foods at Beecher's, Bennett's, and the pig-shaped food truck Minimus/Maximus, has staked out a new spot with Liam's.

The concept here is simple: comfort food dressed to the nines, made with locally-sourced ingredients, and designed to be shared.

Start off with the exceptional oven-roasted meatball with cheese curds and tomato sauce or selections from the cured meat and cheese board.

Entrees are solid, with some early breakaway favorites being the Brussels sprouts basted in duck fat and the awesome braised lamb shanks.

Of course, they sell Beecher's classic mac 'n' cheese here, with some awesome additions — get it with Dungeness crab to really go over the top.

Even better, you don't have to huddle inside. Liam's rocks a year-round outdoor patio that is comfortably heated by a raging gas fireplace.

You just got a new winter hangout. Embrace it.
