Gwar Out

Dive into a 30-year-old mosh pit

You know what musician's career won't last another 30 years? Miley's, apocalypse notwithstanding.

It's rare for any act to age as gracefully as Gwar, whose uniquely demented brand of madness has endured three decades, and counting.

These guys might be the only truly must-see rock band left on earth. See for yourself tonight when they hit Showbox SoDo in support of their new Battle Maximus album.

The stage show for Beavis and Butthead's favorite band is crazier than ever, as Oderus Urungus and crew behead the President, battle giant robots and spray blood, slime, and other fluids all over the audience.

Reports from other stops on the tour have them kicking out classics and new tracks in equal measure, in addition to the usual over-the-top costumes, punishing riffs, and bizarre theatrics.

They've also been playing a cover of Billy Ocean's "Get Out Of My Dreams, Get Into My Car" for reasons no human can explain.

Dare you brave the front row? If you do, stop by REI and get something waterproof (and bloodproof) first.

Rock and roll isn't pretty, but with these guys it's downright dangerous.
