It's not looking good for Seattle and pro basketball, as Sacramento is pulling out all the stops to keep the Kings.
But all is not lost. One of the most legendary Sonics of all time is coming back to town to mold you into a pro.
Shawn Kemp was signed by the Sonics in the first round of the 1989 draft and went on to play for the team, leading them to their first appearance in the NBA finals since 1979. Sure, he eventually left the team in 1997, but he made his name here.
And now he's back to lead a two-day fantasy camp for aspiring ballers at Seattle University this June.
Attendees get one-on-one coaching from the Sonics legend and a roster of other pro ballplayers.
Even better, a portion of your tuition fee goes to the Marvin Thomas Memorial Fund, a community organization that sponsors a variety of youth athletics programs across the Pacific Northwest.
Shawn Kemp once dunked on Leonardo DiCaprio. If you dunk on Kemp, that means you got one over on Leo by proxy.
And that's priceless.
