Oh, Henry

Mariners fans have a new pre-game spot with serious choices

Now that bat-cracking season is officially upon us, it’s time to pick your pre- and post-game brewpub lineup.

The latest on the roster? Henry’s First Avenue Tavern in SoDo, just a few steps from Safeco Field.

Henry’s may be new to Seattle but it’s definitely no rookie, with locations also in Portland and Texas.

The tavern offers a staggering 100 beers and ciders on draft, with a tap list dominated by local microbrews. You can keep your drinks cold on the ice rink that runs the length of the bar.

And then there's the hot stuff.

Soft pretzels, thin-crust pizza, and beer brats, load the bases with some serious drinking food while Henry’s All-American Burger hits it out of the park, piling mac-n-cheese, bacon, and cheddar-ale sauce between patty and brioche bun.

We doubt you'll find any vendors hawking cheddar-ale sauce, so save your appetite for pre- or post-game.
