Catch all of the NCAA insanity at these big-screened spots

Full_madness

Sure, live March Madness basketball won't come back to Seattle until 2015, but that doesn't mean we should throw the baby out with the bathwater.

There are plenty of great places to watch hoops in the Emerald City. Here are our favorites.

Drive Deep: Auto Battery
Capitol Hill thinks it's too hip for sports bars, but this spot from the Po Dog proprietors manages to bridge the gap. Its nine flat-screen TVs are going to be tuned to NCAA action the entire tourney.
1009 E Union St., Capitol Hill (206-322-2886)

First Timers: Rookies
If you're on the south end, Columbia City's Rookies has a dozen screens (including one right over the urinal in the men's room) and an awesome happy hour. Their waffle fries are justifiably famous.
3820 S. Ferdinand, Columbia City (206-722-0301)

Eyes Open: The Spectator
Thirteen screens make this Queen Anne sports bar an amenable spot for NCAA action, and they're even staying open longer hours during the NCAA tourney so you can make sure to catch every game.
529 Queen Anne Ave. N, Queen Anne (206-599-4263)

Lagers And Ales: Thirsty In Seattle
If you don't like basketball but still have a thing for brackets, local blog Thirsty In Seattle is running their annual Beer March Madness, pitting 68 Washington brews against each for ultimate suds superiority.
