Downhill Against Cancer

Hope On The Slopes lets you carve powder for a cure

Full_skiing

Ski season is in full swing, but do you need a little extra push to get out on the powder?

How does fighting cancer sound?

Hope on the Slopes is an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society that stretches across multiple Washington mountains in the month of March.

The event started at White Pass ten years ago, and it's since spread to Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass, and Mount Spokane.

Captains assemble teams of 12-15 people who collect pledges for every vertical foot they traverse during the event. Then skiiers and snowboarders hit the lifts, frantically jetting through the white stuff to earn as much cash as possible.

The Stevens Pass and Mt. Spokane events have already come and gone, but there's still time to get in on the fun at Crystal and White Pass.

So put a team together and see how much white stuff you can carve when cancer's on the line.
