Denim 2.0

Hointer reinvents the way you buy your pants

Sometimes we really don’t want the whole retail experience.

That’s why Hointer, newly opened in the U-District, is our new favorite place to buy jeans.

Here’s how it works: You walk in and find the style of jeans you like from more than 150 pairs, from local microdenims James Jeans to big name Earnest Sewn.

Then you scan the tag of each pair you want to try on with your smartphone, using their dedicated app.

The app will then tell you which dressing room to go to. Step inside and, as if by magic, the jeans you picked are there in your size.

If the fit’s good, you make your purchase right in the dressing room by swiping your credit card in a wall-mounted reader. If not, put them in a chute in the wall and they go wherever rejected jeans go.

The whole operation happens without ever having to see another human face.

You'll never have to make small talk with a sales associate again.
