This Week

Don't worry: Those reports last week about bottomless booze brunches being illegal are totally baseless. Now, get back to your sixth round of Bloody Marys.

  • Just Bead It: Mardi Gras Dinner at Louro Tonight
Tonight, get five cocktails (including Brandy Milk Punch and a Sazerac) with your seven-course tasting menu of okra hush puppies, frog’s legs, etouffee, gumbo, and bananas foster beignets.
Tonight 7p. Louro, 142 W. 10th St. (Waverly Pl.), West Village (212-206-0606). $75 prix fixe.

  • Bottle It Up: The Gilroy Open now
The UES has a new cocktail bar that bottles its barrel-aged Negronis and offers mac & cheese, chicken pot pie, and Beef Wellington to snack on between sips.
    1561 2nd Ave. (E. 81st St.), Upper East Side (212-734-8800)

  • An Island Unto Itself: Arco Café Open now
The flavors of Sardinia are the focus at this new all-day bistro, which means hearty mussel and tomato soup made with Vermentino wine, Sardinian pasta, and semifreddo with amaretti cookies.

886 Amsterdam Ave. (W. 103rd St.), Upper West Side (212-665-0033)

  • Farewell to the Diner: Chez Jef Open now
Mathieu Palombino's Bowery Diner is no more, replaced by this pop-up with a truncated French menu — steak frites, mussels, pate de campagne — until he revamps the whole restaurant this summer.
241 Bowery (Stanton St.), Bowery (212-388-0052)

  • Ahoy, Matey: Navy Open now
This new SoHo spot has a decidedly nautical bent (as if you couldn't tell from the name) serving crispy gnocchi, sardines on toast, and beef cheek ravioli.
137 Sullivan St. (Prince St.), Soho (212-533-1137)
