This Week

Full_coloniaverde

Somebody started a petition to ban all pizzerias in the Lower East Side. We'll see you in dollar-slice hell if that ever happens.

  • Como-Duo: Colonia Verde Open now

Cómodo's husband-and-wife team weren't content with just one fantastic restaurant, so they opened this gem with a menu of machaca tacos, a daily rotating cut of steak (pictured), and those fantastic pão de queijo sliders.

219 Dekalb Ave. (Clermont Ave.), Fort Greene (401-286-8949)

  • Eat Your Heart Out, Laduree: Macaron Parlour Open now

If you've never had a macaron filled with bacon, cognac, or Cheetos-infused ganache, the second location of this offbeat bakery is your best bet in town, but it also serves more traditional gruyère scones and Blue Bottle Coffee.

560 Columbus Ave. (W. 87th St.), Upper West Side

  • Sky's the Limit: Bar 54 Open now

On the 54th floor rooftop of the Hyatt Times Square sits this new lounge with specialty cocktails and punches to sip alongside small plates. Best part? It's got outdoor fireplaces for wintertime warmth.

    135 W. 45th St. (7th Ave.), Midtown (646-364-1234)

  • Speak My Language: Idlewild Open now

The Flatiron's go-to for travel books just opened a new location at the Bedford Mini-Mall, but the best reason to head there is the language classes that will help you brush up on your French, Spanish, and Italian before your late-winter getaway.

    218 Bedford Ave. (N. 5th St.), Williamsburg

  • Drink Up: NYC Beer Week thru Sun

The annual beer fest kicked off on Friday and it's still bubbling over with events at local taprooms in every borough (and even New Jersey) with discounted flights, prix fixe menus, and rare casks tapped just for the occasion.

    Various locations, full lineup here.
