This Week

The next time you decide to forgo a shower post-workout, consider what kind of road that will lead you down.

  • That's So '70s: The Regency Bar & Grill Open now

The Sant Ambroeus team gave this birthplace of the "power breakfast" a makeover that took a year, but was entirely worth the wait. Now it's an "American grill" serving up fine steaks and market vegetables in a 135-seat dining room.

540 Park Ave. (E. 61st St.), Upper East Side (212-339-4050)

  • Pork & Knife: BarBacon Open now

Yep, it's a bacon bar that serves four varieties of the cured stuff (even lamb bacon) served alone or in lobster rolls and grilled cheese alongside a handsome selection of craft bourbon and beer.

    836 9th Ave. (54th St.), Midtown (646-362-0622)

  • Opa Table: Blue Olive Market Open now

Think of it as a smaller version of Eataly, but for everything Greek. Here you can get olive oils, baklava, meze, mousaka, and more to take away, or pull up a chair at the in-house wine bar for a glass or three.

    210 E. 41st St. (3rd Ave.), Midtown (212-922-0991)

  • Cava Life: El Born Open now

Greenpoint's fine for Polish fare, but now its stepping up its tapa game at this Catalonian spot serving stone-grilled octopus, crispy rabbit, pan-seared tuna (pictured), and a selection of Spanish wines and cavas.

615 Manhattan Ave. (Nassau Ave.), Greenpoint (347-844-9295)

  • Do the Hotel Hustle: The Wayfarer Open now

This new seafood-focused spot is supposed to evoke "the experience of an old gentlemen’s club with a touch of disco-era design," or so says the Quin Hotel. They can keep the disco, but we'll happily take the sprawling second floor clubroom bar.

    Quin Hotel, 101 W. 57th St. (6th Ave.), Midtown (212-691-0030)
