This Week

And here you thought drones were creepy. Will sexbots be our SkyNet?

  • Speakeasy Soon: Hudson Malone Open now

Former P. J. Clarke’s bartender Doug Quinn opened this vintage saloon, offering only hand-crafted cocktails at first — but it'll soon expand to serve pub grub (burgers, pork chops) and open an upstairs speakeasy.

    218 E. 53rd St. (3rd Ave.), Midtown (212-355-6607)

  • Melting Pot: Baoburg Open now

Interestingly, you won't find many buns at this spot, which combines French and Spanish influence with Asian ones, offering seared duck over ramen (pictured), cola-glazed ribs, linguini with mussels, and octopus with chorizo and edamame.

    126 N. 6th St. (Berry St.), Williamsburg (718-782-1445)

  • Gangs of New York: Louie and Chan Open now

This place might have the air of an opium den, but it's an Italian joint at heart, evoking the early NYC's downtown in the early 1900s and serving wood-fired pizzas and pastas — with a lounge and music spot opening soon.

303 Broome St. (Forsyth St.), Lower East Side (212-837-2816)

  • Pig Out: Rôtisserie Georgette Open now

The humble chicken isn't the only thing on the menu at this French spot by Daniel Boulud's former PR director, where you can get large-format feasts including a leg of lamb and a whole baby pig.

14 E. 60th St. (Madison Ave.), Upper East Side (212-390-8060)

  • Buttery What? The Golden Cadillac Food & Drink Open now

This East Village cocktail den is a time machine back to the 1970s, with dark wood and that Boogie Night's palette of yellow and orange, serving insane drinks like the Nuclear Banana Snaquiri and the Buttery Nipple.

    13 1st Ave. (E. 1st St.), East Village (212-995-5151)
