This Week

We don't know about you, but we spent our weekend drunk-dialing Congress.

  • Chicken Out: The Nugget Spot Open now
This place is devoted entirely to the humble nugget, which here includes everything from chicken to cauliflower, coated with coconut, Cheez-It dust, and more.
    230 E. 14th St. (3rd Ave.), East Village (646-422-7426)

  • Molto Italiano: Cucina Ciano Open now
The shuttered Ciano has been revived as a smaller red sauce joint uptown that focuses on traditional Italian American fare of meatballs, baked clams, and lobster fra diavolo, along with its classic chicken in a clay pot.
    181 E. 78th St. (3rd Ave.) Upper East Side (646-422-7550)

  • Bigger and Better: Tao Downtown Open now
Just when you thought the big box Asian fusion spots were dead and gone comes this massive sibling to Tao's midtown spot, serving fresh seafood, roasted chow mein, and Shanghai fried rice wrapped in crepes.
    92 9th Ave. (W. 16th St.), Meatpacking District (212-888-2724)

  • Choosen Beef: Reserve Cut at The Setai Wall Street Open now
This Financial District steakhouse in the old SHO Shaun Hergatt space is all kosher, serving not only 10 types of prime beef but also grilled rack of lamb and veal sweet breads.
40 Broad St. (Exchange Pl.), Financial District (212-747-0300)

  • Use Your Noodle: Cocoron Open now
The LES version of this noodle place closed last month, but its new larger location still serves up its cold and warm soba with pork and kimchi, yuba, and natto.
37 Kenmare St. (Mott St.), Nolita (212-966-0800)
