Talking Rats and Angry Birds: BHQF and Valerie Hegarty at Brooklyn Museum
There are two must-see shows at the Brooklyn Museum right now. The first is a retrospective of anonymous art-jokester collective Bruce High Quality Foundation, which features a talking inflatable union rat and a pile of dongs cast from classical sculputure. Meanwhile, Valerie Hegarty takes over the museum's period rooms and installs flocks of (fake) angry crows who rip apart portraits of George Washington and generally cause a major mess.
Thru Sep 22 (BHQF) and Dec 1 (Hegarty). 200 Eastern Pkwy. (Washington Ave.), Prospect Heights (718-638-5000). $12 suggested.
