It Gets Greater

The Great GoogaMooga promises not to be a disaster again

Full_googa2013

We know. Last year's Great GoogaMooga wasn't so great.

There was no cell service. The wine-and-beer ticket system was a mindf*** even for the people who were running it. The lines for life boats on the Titanic were probably shorter than the one for lobster rolls.

And at the end of the day, all you got was a horse bologna sandwich from M. Wells because no one else wanted to eat horse. (Still, it was pretty good.)

But this year will be different. This year, The Flaming Lips and Yeah Yeah Yeahs kick off a weekend of music, booze, and very, very good eats.

Matt & Kim, De La Soul, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, and a dozen other acts background the many hours you'll spend in the tasting tent with over 100 wines from around the world. And Roberta's is hosting an "Urban Ren-Fair" with meats on sticks and lots of beer.

The rest of the restaurants are too many to list, but we'll give you the short version: Baohaus, Char No. 4, DBGB, Crif Dogs, Do or Dine, Jeepney, Mile End, Num Pang, Northern Spy Food Co., Pig & Khao...you get the idea.

And M. Wells will be there, too — but considering the horse crisis it faced after opening at PS1, probably without the bologna.
