Men's Insider Guide

New York gets crazy this time of the year. Which is why we've teamed up with Nordstrom to help you do it right. Here's the inside tip on NY's hottest holiday activities, paired up with the latest style picks from Nordstrom Men's Shop, so you can put together the perfect look for all your holiday plans.

High Class: NYE at Greenhouse
Score some breathing room away from tourists in midtown by heading downtown to 6,000 square feet and two levels of DJ-driven NYE fun.

Bottoms up: Class things up in this celebrity-studded sky-high hangout, then follow the five-hour premium open bar with a champagne toast at midnight.
Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: NYE might be the one night when your go-to jeans and plaid shirt just won't do. Upgrade to a velvet blazer with flat-front trousers and a shiny pair of Oxfords. Get it here.
9p-2a. 150 Varick St., SoHo (212-807-7000). From $60 here.

Nearby: Boqueria Soho; Aquagrill; City Winery

Aged Food: Dickens Dinner
We’ve heard this story before: some guy gets a bit too tipsy on Christmas Eve and starts seeing ghosts. Or maybe that sums up last Saturday night.
The alternative: Experience the classic Charles Dickens tale in edible form with a multi-course meal divided into dishes from Christmas past, present and future.
Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: Keep things classy with slim fit corduroys paired with a festive paisley blazer. Perfect for dining with out-of-towners or wowing your girlfriend. Get it here.
Thru Jan 6. Amali Restaurant, 115 E. 60th St., East Midtown (212-339-8363). $95. Nearby: The Library; Monkey Bar; Circus

What A Girl Wants:
 Holiday Shops at Bryant Park

She wants strudel, apple cider, and schnitzel, and she wants it with a few hundred tourists.

Take her for a spin: Kill two partridges with one stone by checking ice skating off her wish list at nearby Citi Pond.

Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: With the holiday season in full swing, 'tis the season to dress your best. This Lubaim blazer and V-neck sweater vest combo is as polished as it is easy to put together. Get it here.
Thru Jan. 6. Bryant Park, Garment District (212-661-6640). Nearby: Cellar Bar; Croton Reservoir Tavern; Grand Central Oyster Bar

Non-Vanilla Ice:
Skating at The Standard

Whether it’s for a triple axle, or triple face plant, you want to be the best-looking guy at the best-looking rink in the city. Why not rock an ugly sweater sans ugly?
There’s nothing mundane about the rink at High Line in front of The Standard hotel. Skates are served with a side of hot chocolate and apple cider – sorry it’s not spiked, because balancing on a blade is hazardous enough without adding alcohol.
When it’s time to get intimate with the ice, distressed denim slacks won’t protect you from bruises, but at least you will go down in style.

Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy:  Pair this not-your-Dad's-Christmas sweater from Nudie with a Pendleton plaid shirt and J Brand jeans to stay warm and toasty while you're on the ice. Get it here.
848 Washington St., West Village (212-645-4646). $12. Nearby: High Line; The Tippler; Fig & Olive

Must Masquerade: Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel

Step number one after entering the McKittrick Hotel, after grabbing a cocktail from the suspender-sporting bartender, is donning a mask.
Hide your devilishly good-looking face? Yes, but don’t worry, there’s another way to stand out in the crowd at this experimental theater/haunted house “Sleep No More.”
Sure, you may be mistaken for one of the actors in this modern adaptation of Macbeth, but dressing for an audience isn’t reserved for thespians.

Nordstrom Men's Shop makes it easy: Spice up a pair of easy black BOSS pants and a crisp white Eton Contemporary button-down with a velvet plaid blazer from Joseph Abboud. Get it here.

530 W. 27th St., Chelsea (866-811-4111). $90. Nearby: Hotel Americano, Velour Lounge, Son Cubano
