We wouldn't blame you if all that talk about a David Beckham-owned team in Miami got you thinking about digging out your old soccer gear.
If so, you need to know about Soccer Rooftop. The two converted tennis courts above a parking garage have become one of Miami's hottest places to play the game.
It sits smack in the center of downtown, the Miami River passing below and the Brickell high-rises surrounding it. South Americans play this way, on small courts at the top of high-rises, so of course it makes total sense to have one of these killer courts in Miami.
It's open during weekend days, but the real action happens on weeknights. After work, it's all lawyers and bankers shedding loafers for Adidas. Then late night, it becomes home to service industry workers who play until 2a.
Go Fridays for the pick-up game that starts at 8p. Or better, put together your team of six and play in the tournaments. Best of them is co-ed Wednesday, when the game also happens to be part singles mixer.
Afterwards, head over to Tobacco Road or Finnegan's. Or better yet, the rooftop at your place.
You're not one to shy away from a doubleheader.
