Wok Out

Soi Chinese Kitchen opens in Overtown

Yes, there's Chinese food all over this tropical city.

No, not all of them we'd actually admit to eating sober (trust us, we've done the research).

But then Soi Chinese Kitchen opened in Overtown, crafting up made-to-order modern Chinese-American cuisine with authentic lo mein, daily-made dumplings, and rice bowls.

Like, you know, a rice bowl created exclusively for you, our Rundown readers.

While this place is designed for delivery, you can still eat in-house, giving you ample time to check out the large exterior mural created by local graffiti artists Atomik, Daniel Fila, Ahol and HOX. Plus, you'll be able to try their very own Soi branded lychee plum wine and cabernet sauvignons, served exclusively on site.

Seating is limited inside, so make your way to their outdoor patio after ordering at the pick-up window. As for what to get, the first item on the list is the Rundown Rice Bowl: an Asian take on shrimp & grits infused with creamy white rice topped with shrimp, bacon, scallions, and a sous vide egg.

We also like the curry-infused Chinese black garlic shrimp udon noodles and the char siu ribs doused in a Chinese BBQ sauce. And for dessert, the banana nutella peanut butter bun with homemade dark chocolate is tops.

Sure, it's not the "Rundown Banana Nutella Peanut Butter Bun." But we can dream.
