Greek God

Poseidon dishes out authentic Greek food in South Beach

Every now and then, Washington Avenue surprises us. And we're not talkin' about Club Madonna.

We're surprised in a good way at the new Poseidon Restaurant and Outdoor Lounge

Like for Odysseus, your long journey home through treacherous South Beach congestion requires a reward, and this temple to all things Greek has you covered. The outdoor terrace's pristine nautical theme will transport you to, say, Santorini. Or Mykonos. Hell, at 6p, we'd even take some graffiti'd alley in Athens.

Your well-earned meal starts with a bottle of the crisp citrusy My Big Fat Greek Wine which pairs perfectly with fluffy pita bread and roasted Mediterranean octopus in lemon oil

For the main course, stick with a classic vegetable lasagna moussaka with roasted eggplant and zucchini, alongside the spicy fresh sea risotto in a white butter sauce.

And if they bring back that belly dancer from their recent grand opening?

No one would blame if you pulled an Odysseus and stayed awhile.
