Urban Escape

Avoid the Memorial Day tourist invasion for three days in the Keys

May 24 marks the start of Memorial Day weekend.

Or as we know it, tourist overdrive.

Skip out on the crowds and bouncing Impala Donks to relax at a three-day getaway in the Keys at Cheeca Lodge & Spa for their Summer, Stars, & Cigars package.

We're pretty sure this is how The Most Interesting Man In The World would take a weekend off.

The festivities begin with a cigar reception
that's right, a cigar reception  on Friday night overlooking the Keys. Throw back a few glasses of cognac while smoking hand-rolled cigars and gazing at the stars.

Because you're not actually the Dos Equis guy, a professional astronomer will be on hand to help you locate the Little Dipper (especially helpful after your fifth cognac).

Saturday is all about being outdoors, which means either parking it along the secluded shoreline, hitting a few balls at the nine-hole golf course, or exploring what this village has to offer, including deep sea fishing at The Big Bite III right down the street.

Cruise around the gulf at sunset come Sunday evening as grill masters serve up made-to-order specialty sausages alongside crispy house-made chips and ample craft beer of your choosing.

Good luck returning to civilization on Tuesday.
