Video killed the radio star.
But we'd still be tuning in forever if we could listen at the new pop-up bar Radio, where a secret entrance in back is the only way you can get in after 11p.
Taking over the old Jeronimo’s, this new station of mismatched furniture, Christmas lights, a pool table, and a wall of liquor comes from a trio of South Beach party scene alums. They're eager to introduce the quieter South of Fifth neighborhood to local acts including DJ Tom Laroc, DJ Sinatra, and Reid Waters.
With drinks served out of Champagne glasses, mason jars, and whatever else is lying around, you’ll have your choice of Magic Hat #9 on draft, Blue Moon by the bottle, or gin-infused blackberry bramble cocktails made with orange bitters and creme de mure.
And don’t expect any fancy four-course, celebrity chef culinary concoctions. If you’re hungry, order a simple dog with all the fixings and a side of buttery popped kernels from the popcorn machine by the bar.
Since it's set to close up shop sometime after February, you'd better tune in now.
