Come Again

Key Biscayne’s hidden watering hole reopens

Dive bars certainly serve their purpose.

But when they come with the added bonus of making us feel like we’re back in college, all we can say is, "Where do we enroll?"

The Wetlab, part of UM's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), has been closed since May and is set to reopen its college-run doors with a soft opening slated for October 19.

Known for its cheap drinks and phenomenal views of Biscayne Bay, this hidden gem situated right alongside the beach has been the go-to watering hole for all local boozers -- not just the college kids.

You’ll still get that open space cafeteria-type vibe fully equipped with foosball and pool table along with the simple bar and low-key decor. But we know you'll bypass all that to take in your old spot outside on the patio checking out the sunset.

And instead of only offering you just Avery IPA and Blue Point Summer for $3 and the ability to bring a pie from your local pizzeria, there will also be food served onsite (although the menu is kept a secret for now).

Proving change is good — even at dive bars.
