Dungeons & Dragon

Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion is your best reason to visit the theater

Full_contorsion

When men in tights sing emotional power ballads, theater gets a bad rap. And Glee isn't always helping the cause.

But Cirque Du Soleil's Dralion is not your cousin's high school play.

With a stage transformed into a monumental plate of medieval armor, you'll enter a Gothic chamber where mighty claws reach out from the backdrop.

You’ll see jugglers, contortionists, and a few hand balancers, but this time around they add some Chinese dragons along with the twisted backbends of Cirque.

Women in hoops transcend from the air, morphing their bodies to mimic the shape of the ring, while on-stage performers balance on large wooden balls and dance alongside gigantic furry dragons.

While you’re entranced with the couple dangling in the air, tangled together within one blue ribbon, keep your eyes on performers who dive through small rotating wooden hoops that make them look like human darts.

It may not be Michael Jackson’s The Immortal Tour, but it sure beats anything on primetime.
