From stripper pole-equipped topless pools to IV-equipped hangover buses, Vegas is known for many things.
Pizza has not been one of them. Until now.
Thanks to 11-time world pizza champion Tony Gemignani and his new downtown restaurant Pizza Rock, Vegas has a new claim to fame that has nothing to do with Leslie Chow.
And Gemignani — named one of the world's three Neapolitan pizza ambassadors by the city of Naples, Italy — is only making 73 of his award-winning margherita pizzas per day, so get there early if you want to taste of slice of history.
But with DJs spinning rock from inside the cab of a semi truck and 10 styles of pies and house-made pastas served until 4a on weekends, there’s plenty to satisfy latecomers as well.
Classic New York pizza? Check. Sliced meatball-topped Chicago style? Double check. Honey and quail egg California gourmet ‘za? Triple check. They've even got Kobe burgers and truffle fries.
Watch chefs in the open kitchen work 900-degree ovens or if you’d rather not be spotted, close the velvet curtain in your private dining alcove and sip a Moscow Mule in total seclusion.
House-made vanilla soft serve and pizza slices (try the salami/bacon/pepperoni/sausage-topped Boss) are also yours for the grabbing through a takeout window from the street.
Who needs IV buses when we've got takeout windows?
