Holy Trinity

Satisy those other urges at these new hotspots

Between checking out Electric Daisy Carnival ragers, beer pong tournaments, and sick new water parks, spring kept us mighty busy.
And hungry. In the city where no craving goes unfulfilled, here’s our rundown of the best new summer bars and restaurants in Vegas.

Pub 1842 at MGM Grand
What’s been missing from your burger all these years? Peanut butter. So says Michelin-starred chef Michael Mina, whose new comfort food oasis in the MGM Grand includes the potato chip and bacon jam-topped Peanut Butter Crunch Burger.
Beyond beef, they've got a Korean BBQ Salmon Burger with cucumber kimchi, soft pretzels with house-made American cheese fondue, and cocktails bold enough to keep up. Choose from 24 beers on tap (and endless flights) or go big with Here Piggy Piggy, a beautiful marriage of bacon and Bulleit bourbon.
Now open. 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. S., The Strip (702-891-7777).
Five50 at Aria (pictured)
Here’s the thing about New York pizza: You usually have to go to New York to get it. Not anymore, thanks to James Beard Award-winning chef Shawn McClain’s new upscale pizza lounge at Aria, where wood-fired pies are cooked at the ideal pizza cooking temperature of 550 degrees.
There are also housemade pastas, shared small bite plates, and the freshest of toppings scoured from nearby farms to help put a gourmet spin on classic East Coast-style pizza. ‘Cause while a drunk late-night call to have Domino’s deliver to your hotel room might end in a funny story, it won’t have a happy ending.
Now Open. 3730 Las Vegas Blvd. S., The Strip (877-230-2742).
McFadden’s in Town Square
Just because St. Patrick’s Day is nine months away doesn’t mean you can’t drink 80-ounce fishbowl cocktails while generally acting like a total jackass. One, this is Vegas. And two, local Irish pub McFadden’s is re-opening in Town Square following its sudden closing at the Rio last year.
The Irish resurrection comes complete with burgers that can get you drunk (Jameson burger) and Fireball cinnamon whisky on tap. And, this being Vegas and all, there’s also a McFadden’s calendar girl search event set for opening weekend — for those times when your Irish pub needs a little more skin. Like always.
Opening July 18. 6593 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Town Square (702-834-4400).
