Two Rooms With a View

Double your downtown pleasure at Takami and Elevate Lounge

The views are spectacular and the excellent food is an unexpected bonus at Takami, a new sushi and robata room occupying half of the 21st floor of a downtown office tower.

Robata is about small plates, so the focus here is on sharing. The yakitori-like skewers are delicious, whether speared with grilled vegetables or rich foie gras pounded into filet mignon. Specialty dishes range from familiar combinations (yellowtail and jalapeno) to the more exotic (seared albacore with fried garlic chips).

Sushi and other traditional dishes are served as well, either in the glass-enclosed patio, booths, or wraparound sushi bar.

After dinner, make an evening of it by hitting Elevate Lounge for more panoramic views of the city. Situated on the opposite side of the floor, Elevate is a nightclub space with a seventies modern look (Bond-like oversize silhouettes of alluring nude women run along the walls) spinning hip-hop, techno and Latin music.
