Lovers’ Lane

Uber meets Tinder with a new driving service that offers mobile speed dating

Meet Ryder, a new LA-based mobile dating app that combines an Uber-like car service with the match-finding potential of your favorite Tinder-esque hook up apps.

Simply enter your destination, and Ryder will populate your screen with available hotties headed in the same direction. Swipe right when you find the one you want to share a cab with. If you match, a car will be on its way to pick you both up.

But first, choose your preferred experience. Like Uber’s SUV, black car, and UberX options, your taxi comes in three different styles.

The Classy Cab (a BMW convertible complete with icebreaker games and John Legend playlist) is for ladies who’ve got girlfriend potential. You’ll chat under the stars and hopefully exchange digits by the time you get to your destination.

If you’re looking for less talking and more spit-swapping, opt for the Makeout Mobile, a tinted town car where tonsil hockey is encouraged and conversation is optional (like the quiet car on a commuter train).

The third option, a limited availability Shaggin' Wagon (state of the art sleeper camper), may not be totally in line with the city public lewdness laws, but just because there’s a queen size bed inside doesn’t mean you can’t also engage in some meaningful discourse.

It may take a little longer to get where you're going, but hey, finding your next hook up true love is worth it. Right?

No one wants to be alone on April Fools’ Day.

Is This a Joke? Yes, it’s April Fools'.
