SaMo bar pays homage to one of LA's greatest writers (and drinkers)

Novelist, poet, and LA-native Charles Bukowski was famous for two things: writing some of the most iconic dystopian stories of all time, and knowing his way around a stiff drink.

Which is why two lovers of literature are paying their respects to the late writer the best way they know how: with Barkowski, a 60’s-era Bukowski-themed bar.
SaMo’s newest upscale dive is helping you channel the “laureate of American lowlife” by offering free-flowing pours of low-rent classics Keystone, Schlitz, and Bud Light, alongside White Castle burgers (nuked, of course) to help soak up the booze.
For more discerning pallets, they’ve also got Bison organic gingerbread ale, Lost Coast Downtown Brown, or more than 35 other bottles of brew. Plus, wine and rotating house-special cocktails.
All that liquid inspiration will hopefully help foster a new generation of great Angeleno writers. If that doesn’t work, it’ll at least get everyone good and tipsy.
LA’s most notorious literary drunk would be proud.
