Pedal of Honor

Two pedals, two wheels, two days of perfect weather

Full_venicebike

Yup, it'll be gorgeous this weekend. And since you've already inflated your tires and cleaned the cobwebs off the ol' beach cruiser, it's the perfect way to wrap up the end of Bike Week in LA.

Here’s our Rundown on our favorite rides around town.

Beach Cruiser: SaMo to Venice
Make a quick exit from the tourist circus that is the Third Street Promenade, riding your beach cruiser along Santa Monica State Beach Park (Ocean Ave which becomes Neilson Way) instead. Should your lady need a sugar kick, grab some cotton candy on the Santa Monica pier (yeah, it'll be crowded). Then pedal down under the pier past the rings and gymnastics show, before entering back on the street on fully-blossomed Rose Avenue for an unparalleled dinner at Superba Snack Bar.
Superba Snack Bar, 533 Rose Ave., Venice (310-399-6400)

Capital Beer: Chandler Bike Path
Parallel to the Orange Line, the Candler Bike Path runs from Burbank to North Hollywood. Take a scenic bike ride from studio land towards the NoHoArts District where the Federal Bar will reward your pedaling with 20 craft beers on tap and a none-too-shabby menu, including molten meatballs and IPA braised short ribs.
Federal Bar, 5303 Lankershim Blvd., NoHo Arts District (818-908-2555)

Park Hollywood: Lakes and Parks Tour
Early riser? You can hit the bike paths around the Hollywood Reservoir starting at 6:30a. Start later and your cruise through Beachwood Canyon can end with a memorably messy and mouthwatering BBQ lunch at Birds. Fueled up, you're ready to fly eastward along Franklin to Griffith Park, where a champagne toast sunset at Griffith Observatory concludes your epic car-less afternoon.
Birds, 5925 Franklin Ave., Hollywood (323-465-0175)
