Raising the Barra

Rustic pizza next to the Arclight

Full_stella

Yesterday, we reminded you how busy the summer box office will keep you.

Today, we show you how to do summer cinema right.

If you're going to hit the Arclight for an epic double-feature, popcorn won't hack it.

Enter the Hollywood sister to SaMo’s Stella Rossa, Stella Barra — a giant, open space that feels more like you’re on a hillside in Tuscany than a congested corner of the Sunset Strip.

Should you meander in for a morning matinee, the front area's got you covered with a casual walk-in market serving fresh pastries, chocolate chip bacon cookies, and coffee from 7-11a every morning.

If you arrive for a nighttime shift, head to the central bar to order a Freshie Fresh: it’s like an Arnold Palmer spiked with pisco

Then, it's pizza time in the back by the open kitchen. Choose from five each of reds and whites, with all kinds of rustic toppings. Our favorite is the house-made pork sausage, sweetened with fennel pollen.

A nice scent to carry you through to the closing credits.
