Out-of-Home Movies

The Landmark brings the comforts of home to the cineplex

Cozy up to your date watching a movie on the couch at The Landmark West Los Angeles, the Westside's answer to The ArcLight Cinemas.

The recently opened complex shows serious films (think Sicko, not Transformers) on 12 screens.

Three Living Rooms offer the home theater experience, seating between 30 and 50 people each. Reserve a plush sofa for three, or an overstuffed love seat for two up front. Place your food and drinks on conveniently located side tables.

All seats are reserved, so there's no ticketholders line. There's only one problem: you can't buy tickets for the Living Rooms online, you have to buy them at the box office. Stop by during the day or before dinner to reserve your tickets, then return at showtime.

More amenities include free, ample parking and a wide-open lobby lounge serving beer and wine as well as the deepest concession stand in LA. No gloating to your Hollywood friends, though, until The Landmark allows you to bring alcohol into the theatre like you can at the ArcLight.

Parking: More than 3,300 free spots are underneath the venue. Drive down to the third level, no need to scour Level 2 for a spot.
Concessions: Choose pocky sticks and Pom drinks. Skip soggy pizza and mediocre frozen yogurt (walk across the street to Cold Stone Creamery).
Nearby: Apple Pan; Gyu-Kaku; Liquid Kitty
Little-known fact: Dallas Mavericks owner (and possible future Cubs owner) Mark Cuban co-owns The Landmark.
