Hanoi Hops

Malai Thai-Vietnamese Kitchen is now brewing beer

Full_malaibeer

Beer and pizza, you've had a great run. Same with you, beer and hot dogs.

There's a new soon-to-be-classic combo in town: beer and jungle curry hot pot.

It was only a matter of time.

After a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam in 2012 and months of preparation, the owners of Malai Kitchen have taken their Thai-Vietnamese food inspiration and put it on tap.

They received their brewpub license and now offer two special craft brews.

Bia Hoi is a lighter Vietnamese rice lager blended with barley and hops.

Thai-P-A, however, is a bolder, medium-bodied IPA with strong hoppiness and nuanced flavors of lemongrass, kaffir lime, and galangal (blue ginger).

Both beers will be served on tap at the restaurant and both stand up to the bold flavors of every dish on the menu.

Which means drunken noodles is no longer just the English translation for pad kee mow.

It's a way of life.
