Out of This World

Get ready for the reboot of Snuffer's on Lower Greenville

In 1,000 years when alien beings discover the time capsule buried in our backyard, it'll contain the usual.

But among the priceless art and literary masterpieces, there will be one thing even more astounding: a platter of Snuffer's Cheddar Fries, which will clearly demonstrate that perfection was achieved on earth in 1978.

Should they want to experience a more authentic (fresher) version of what happens when the shavings of a 40-pound block of aged Wisconsin Cheddar meet a pile of hand-cut fries, freshly crumbled bacon, green onions, jalapeƱos, and ranch dressing, they should land in Dallas on March 10.

They will experience an event as monumental as that time they helped build some pyramids. Because Snuffer's on Greenville Ave. rises again with a completely new building on the sacred ground of the original, torn down last year.

Salvaged benches and photos have been worked into the improved layout, which now includes a huge wrap-around patio and inside/outside bar.

Their iconic half-pound burgers on poppy seed buns haven't changed a bit, but you can now get fresh-made guacamole on top and sweet potato fries topped with ice cream for dessert.

On second thought, we may need a bigger time capsule.
