Poutine on the Ritz

Meat, meat, and more meat at the Blind Butcher

As Valentine's Day approaches, leave the Lifetime movie lineup to your girlfriend.

You? You're gonna go find yourself a ménage à trois.

Look no further than Lower Greenville Ave, where fries, cheese curds, and gravy merge in a Canadian act of love known simply as poutine.

Three varieties are being offered at the soft-opened Blind Butcher.
Choose from mushroom, pork belly, or duck confit & foie gras (pictured). If we were a bed of french fries, that's how we'd want to be smothered to death.

Though the Butcher doesn't officially launch until February 6, everything meaty already shines here thanks to fine dining quality in a casual, pubby atmosphere.

That means hand-cranked sausages (English bangers, bacon bratwurst, vegan) and charcuterie boards beyond compare.

There are pig ears for extreme eaters, pastrami egg rolls for the merely adventurous.

Everything goes wonderfully with beer, including three nitro drafts, and plenty of locals. A handful of craft cocktails are ideal dessert substitutes.

But it sure would be sad to jilt the bacon caramel corn so close to V-Day.
