His & Hers

True Food Kitchen opens in the Plaza at Preston Center

There's one thing west coasters do better than Texas they eat healthy.

We don't mean juice cleanses. We're talking legit delicious (and solid!) food that doesn't taste like cardboard wrapped in more cardboard.

Get a taste when True Food Kitchen opens tomorrow, the first healthy opening in a while that you and your girlfriend can agree on.

The menu at this small but growing west coast chain is inspired by Dr. Andrew Weil's anti-inflammatory diet, which focuses on feeling better and living longer through proper nutrition.

You'll satisfy your need for grass-fed bison burgers with umami, mushroom and parmesan (above) while she can get her fill of the delicious simplicity in the Tuscan kale salad, dressed in lemon juice, and topped with parm and bread crumbs (also above).

Single? Even better. This is the place you take your gluten-free, meat-free, veggie-loving dates when your taste buds are longing for steak tacos or panang curry with shrimp and a frosty Deep Ellum IPA, but you don't want to deprive her of a TLT (tempeh, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich.

Who knows, maybe one day you'll order one of your own.
